What’s the difference between HavenFog and HavenMist?

HavenFog uses a thermal (hot) fogger to disperse HavenFog solution into microscopic particles that penetrate HVAC systems, wall cavities, subfloor voids, and carpet fibers — ideal for widespread or hidden mold throughout an entire structure. HavenMist is a fine-mist spray applied directly to surfaces and confined areas such as closets, bathrooms, or individual rooms. Use HavenFog for whole-home treatment; use HavenMist for isolated or maintenance treatments.

Which product should I use for widespread mold throughout my home?

HavenFog Kit (covers up to 4,000 sq ft) or HavenFog Mini Kit (covers up to 1,000 sq ft) are designed for widespread treatment. The fogging process delivers treatment to areas that surface sprays cannot reach. For a home with mold throughout multiple rooms, the HavenFog Kit is the recommended starting point.

What is the difference between HavenFog and the BioBalance Peroxide products?

Haven™ citrus-seed-extract products (HavenFog, HavenMist, HavenClean) are designed for biological mold management in finished living spaces — carpets, air, surfaces, and fabric. The BioBalance Peroxide Kit and H2O2 solution are hydrogen peroxide-based and designed specifically for treating visible mold on raw building materials such as unfinished wood framing, joists, and concrete. Note: Peroxide products require adequate ventilation. Individuals with CIRS or chemical sensitivities should consult their physician or a certified IEP before use.

Is BioBalance safe for people with CIRS or mold sensitivity?

Haven™ citrus-seed-extract products were developed with mold-sensitive individuals in mind. However, every person’s sensitivity profile is different. If you have Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) or heightened chemical sensitivity, we recommend consulting your physician or a certified Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) before beginning treatment.

How many square feet does each product cover?

HavenFog Mini Kit covers up to 1,000 sq ft. HavenFog Kit covers up to 4,000 sq ft. HavenFog 1 qt. refill treats up to 1,000 sq ft; HavenFog 1 gal. refill treats up to 4,000 sq ft. HavenMist Large Kit treats up to 3,000 sq ft. HavenMist Travel Kit is designed for single-room use in unfamiliar environments such as hotel rooms.

Do I need a professional to use these products?

BioBalance Haven™ products are designed for homeowner use without professional application. However, for severe or widespread mold situations, or if you have CIRS, we recommend first having a certified mold inspector assess your home. Our sister company AirWell provides credentialed IEP assessments in AZ, CO, NM, OK, and TX.

Can I use HavenFog and HavenMist together?

Yes. HavenFog and HavenMist use the same citrus-seed-extract base formula and are designed to work as a system. A common protocol is to fog the entire structure with HavenFog first, then use HavenMist for ongoing maintenance in specific areas. HavenClean can be used for carpet and fabric furniture as part of the same treatment sequence.
